It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages

What are telescopic sliding doors?
Telescopic sliding doors are different to standard sliding doors in that two leaves slide in the same direction and then stack up to one side of the door frame in the open position. These types of doors offer you the widest possible opening for the shortest wall space, making them perfect for small areas.
They are also available as bi-parting doors. With this type of solution, two door leaves will stack up on each side of the opening. Entrance Access Solutions offer telescopic doors in architectural aluminium with different options for a professional finish. The doors can also be supplied in toughened glass. We also have a large variety of activation devices, including sensors, push pads and access control.
What locking mechanisms are available for telescopic doors?
Both automatic sliding doors and telescopic sliding doors can be fitted with electric locks or standard manual locks. Both are secure options, and additional locks can be added if required. The systems can also be connected to access control devices, making them a great option as a secure entrance.
Where should one use telescopic sliding doors?
The automatic telescopic sliding door system is suitable in nearly all buildings and environments. Entrance Access Solutions have installed them in hotels, doctor surgeries, hospitals, shopping centres, office blocks and retail units. The door system includes safety devices such as presence detecting sensors and safety pocket screens that ensure the door will not come into contact with pedestrians. This makes them completely safe to be used absolutely anywhere.
With the leaves on one side of the opening, the telescopic door system is a real space saver and, therefore, a great option when space is at a premium. It is one of the most popular entrance solutions as it is affordable and reliable, and also offers a stylish look for any business.
The installation usually takes one working day, depending on the size of the project. However, Entrance Access Solution will always ensure that premises are secured by the end of the day.
What door can be converted into a telescopic sliding door?
You cannot naturally convert the existing door into a telescopic sliding door. First, you need to remove the existing swing door and install a new aluminium liner frame to mount the sliding door operator on. However, you can usually keep existing frames and windows. Even though you cannot exactly convert an existing swing door to a telescopic door, in most circumstances, you can put the sliding system into any environment.
Entrance Access Solution can also retrospectively fit a new telescopic sliding operator into an existing sliding door back track (header). Updating the old system will help you to reduce the overall cost.
What maintenance do telescopic sliding doors require?
Though our telescopic sliding doors are very reliable, they need regular maintenance to ensure that they continue to slide into the frame smoothly. We advise you get your telescopic sliding door maintained once every six months. Our friendly customer services team will inspect any moving parts, including carriage wheels and floor guides, since they can wear over time. We also test all the electrical components and motor along with a BSEN16005 safety check. In case of any automatic or manual door issues, contact our emergency call out service. One of our engineers will attend the site as soon as possible.
